Circulation
The Library has many recently published and popular novels, including graphic novels, inspirational fiction, large print books, as well as a non-fiction section. We have young adult books and a children’s area with books, movies, and early-literacy workstations. We are expanding our selection of books in Spanish for adults, young adults, and children. We also have DVDs, and audio books on CD.
All materials are available for check out for a period of three (3) weeks. Adults can check out up to 10 items at a time, and children can check out 30 items at a time.
Library Cards
A Keizer Community Library card opens the door to a world of information and entertainment: books, audio books, movies, computers, and more. Receive a library card at the service desk, or online here.
Kids library cards are available to any child, ages zero to 13 years. Youth 14 and over may register for an adult card. An adult must register for a library card in their name before a kids card can be issued. The kids card will be associated with the adult as the responsible person.
Book Club Kits
The library provides book club kits. Each book club kit contains 8 to 10 copies of a book as well as discussion questions for use by book clubs. The kits check out just like books, but for 6 weeks instead of 3 weeks.
How can we get a kit? Stop by the library to chooses a kit from the shelves below the DVDs. If you
see a kit on the list that is currently checked out in our catalog, you are able to place a reserve on it to request it when it is returned. You may also call the library at 503-390-2370 and we will help you place a reserve or check out a kit.
What if a book is lost? If your group happens to lose a book, we ask that you replace it with another copy of the book, new or used, that is clean and readable.
Computers and Internet Access
The library has four computers, with Microsoft Word/Excel and internet access. Computer stations are available for use on a first-come first-served basis, and requires sign-in at the Service Desk.
Free Wi-Fi (wireless) access is available at all times.
Kids Computers
The library has two early literacy workstations to promote school readiness. These resources provide a good introduction to the media skills young students will use in school, including how to use a keyboard, how the mouse works, and how the mouse interacts with the screen. The workstations are easy for kids to use, so kids can use them independently without a lot of instruction. Preschoolers and fifth graders alike love the wide variety of educational games available.
