Meet the Director

Laura Bindley is a long time Keizer resident, having moved here in 1966 at the age of two. Her alma mater is McNary High School. She has worked for the State of Oregon for almost 27 years, and has held a myriad of positions in contract & procurement management, telecommunications, financial management, rentals & services, website and promotions editing, project & event management, sponsorship coordinator and volunteer supervision.
“Getting the opportunity to work with the amazing volunteers who have brought the Keizer Community Library to the level of success it has achieved is an extraordinary honor, and I’m excited to see how I can become more involved. Having heard so many good things about KCL over the years, I’m looking forward to seeing how far we can develop the current programs that are in place, and finding new fun ideas and happenings to bring to our Keizer community."
Laura’s volunteer involvement began at an early age, helping her family bake donuts for church socials. Her community volunteerism included seven years with the Salem Jaycees, holding offices of Management & Development VP, Chapter President (4 years), Chairwoman of the Board, Newsletter Editor and Technical Advisor. She has supported the Keizer Lions Club as a graphic artist and calligrapher, and has worked for several years behind the scenes assisting the Keizer Community Library with financial coordination and reporting for the Secretary/Treasurer.
Laura's hobbies include singing, playing and teaching guitar and writing poems, lyrics, songs, stories, etc., as well as cruising and traveling.
